This policy explains how Quokka Kerbing ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What information we collect
We collect personal information you choose to give us when you call, text or email us, or when we visit your property to measure up. This may include:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address of the property where the work will be done
- details about your job, such as lengths, styles, colours and site access
- photos of your garden or property that you send us or that we take when measuring up
- for commercial clients, company details, site contacts, purchase orders and site requirements
You don't have to give us any information, but without contact details and the job address we may not be able to prepare a quote or do the work.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- arrange, carry out and follow up on your job
- issue invoices and keep business records
- contact you about your job, including scheduling and aftercare
- meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations
We don't use your information for unrelated marketing, and we will never sell, rent or trade it.
Photos of completed work
We sometimes photograph finished jobs to show our work on this website or on social media. We don't publish your name, street address or anything that identifies your property without your permission. If you'd rather we didn't use photos of your job at all, just let us know.
Who we share information with
We only share personal information when it's needed to do your job or run our business, for example with:
- suppliers or subcontractors working on your job, such as concrete suppliers who need the delivery address
- our accountant, bookkeeper, insurer or legal advisers
- service providers we use to run the business, such as email, phone and accounting software
- government agencies or others where we are required or permitted by law
Some of these service providers may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we choose reputable providers that protect personal information appropriately.
Our website
This website doesn't have contact forms or user accounts, and we don't currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this information to identify you.
If we add website analytics or online advertising (such as Google Ads) in the future, we will update this policy to explain what is collected and how you can opt out.
How we store and protect your information
We keep personal information in secure email, phone and business software accounts and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above, including the periods required for tax and business records, and then delete or destroy it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
